Church Finally

Finally got off my lazy @ss and went and found a church today...One of the girls on rez goes to one every sunday...so i asked if me and my roommate could tag along....the church is called RiverRidge and I was pretty surprised to see how many similarities there are between the church here and the ones back home. I have to admit I had my misconceptions of how West Virginia churches would be....but this one was really refreshing. The worship was amazing...songs that I knew and the team was really good.. The message was simple...but very effective ...Basically talking about prayer and different ways people can effectively talk to God...

I think today was definetely needed...Granny's not doing well back home....things seem to have taken a turn for the worse...cancer has grown and spread....and i think she's in the hospital now...chemo isn't an option anymore and basically now it's just keeping her comfortable....I think basically one of my worse fears of coming back down here might come true...I'm praying everyday and all the time that GOd would keep her comfortable and keep her strength. But i know that if its time...she'll be in a better place.

Semester's off to a busy start...tons of assignmets and quizzes to study for...First big exam is pathophysiology on Feb 1st... I want to go home already..

An occasional cry is alright right?

Well...I'm back....got into the rez about an hour ago..unpacked...went to get some food...and now im eagerly awaiting the Edmonton/Calgary game which i'll watch streamed...woot

I cried a good long cry yesterday for the first time in awhile...(in public that is)..
mom and dad came into the room as i was gonna go to sleep and i was getting a little sad already before they came in....so they started praying for me...and when it got to my turn...i couldn't talk..since i was trying to hold in the tears...then boom...it just all came out...runny nose boogers and all...haven't cried liek that since....can't really remember.... I think it's a combination of things....knowing that i won't be back till May...which really isn't that long....missing family..friends...and most of all Granny.....Just the thought of her going through the chemo treatment scares me...not knowing what could possibly happen and if God takes her away early...so got my mom and dad crying too...and they finished off praying for me since i coudln't do it...
I'm a quiet guy who keeps his emotions to himself....so i think for my parents...it was a big shock seeing that from a grown up guy lying in his bed....but it's good once in awhile to let the stuff flow out...and not keep it all bottled inside.....

So here we go on the second semester of first year pharmacy school...hopefully it'll be as successful as the first..

One more week left

exactly 7 days till i head back down...starting to get a little depressed..haha
home's been great...lots of going out at night...but haven'[t had a chance to do a lot of other stuff yet...Taking care of granny during the days cuz everyone's at work...and that's been okay...i think she's getting better every day...so that's comforting..
I'ma ctually getting a little bored now...not studying for a month can really shut down the brain...hopefully it won't be too hard to get started again next week..

Went to T&T..bought some noodles/snacks to take down...will prolly make a trip to superstore to pick up some more stuff...and prolly head to the mall to see if there's any good deals on clothes too..

This week should be packed with stuff to do...last week here...Aunt's family is taking me out to smuggler's for prime rib on tuesday...woot...been craving that for awhile..

BORED

I am bored out of my mind...sitting at gate T at the Winnipeg waiting for my trip home to Calgary...By the time i get on the plane...I wil have been in Winnipeg for 4 hours doing nothing...
Although I did get raped at the security check..haha

They decided to do a random swab of my laptop...and the guy said he got a hit for explosive chemicals...So i was pulled off to the side while my other carry ons were checked...asked questions...and got a full 3-4 minute pat down body search... by the end of it..I told them I was a pharmacy student...and they said it was fine cuz it was probably drugs from the lab....great...better not happen when i go back..

Ill be home is ~3 hours!! So dang excited...

HOME TOMMOROW!!!

IT"S OVer!!! First Semester of Pharmacy school..

THis last month went by pretty slow...but all in all...the entire semester flew by...Seems like it was just yesterday that I came down from Calgary all sad about leaving home..

It's been good...grades are good.. All A's in 6 classes...and 1 stupid B in practice and law...but im happy...Never done so good in school.....Guess i should have tried in undergrad..

Plane leaves at 615 am tommorow and Ill be back around 5 pm in the afternoon...Cannot wait to see everyone...specially Granny cuz she's recovering from surgery...Ill spend lots of time with her this christmas...Can't wait to do a lot of the stufff ive been missing too...Drinking, Poker, Hockey, Virtual Golf...wooot!!! So excited

Anyways...going on a farewell brunch with some friends....PEACE!!

Almost home time!

9 Days till I get to come home...Yes Ive been counting down...Me and the roomate have a countdown calender outside our door..haha I can't wait...
Its finals time now...5 in 5 days next week...so the weekend and the next week is not gonna be fun at all..but hopefully I'll get thru it.

Granny's sick...she had an operation for cancer..and they found that it spread up to the intestines....so i guess it's not looking good...Hopefully she recovers quick from the surgery so that we can start chemo on the intestinal cancer..

Im supposed to be studying for Biochem quiz tommorow, but I don't feel like it...We've got a floor meeting in 20 minutes...and the Flames vs Penguins game is on TV....so i think I might "study" in the lounge with the Tv..

ANyways...Can't wait to come home...eat Pho, Sushi, Meat, and play Hockey and virtual Golf and drink real Beer.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Well it's thanksgiving break down here in the states... my first ever american thanksgiving and it sucks without friends and family back home.. but that's alright. Weve got 9 days off school cuz of it...so that's nice but most of the people have gone home for the break, so that just leaves a few of us on campus. The week's flown by pretty fast.. Haven't done anything much cept watch tv, eat, watch a korean drama called Full House...haha (girl is extremely cute)....and sleep..

We went bowling a few nights ago, and I owned the rest of the group..hahah

Today was an experience... Yesterday we went over to a friend's apartment for a nice thanksgiving meal....after that, we had planned to drive up to Jeffersonsville, Ohio to hit the prime outlets for black friday shopping..

So we rented a car thusrday afternoon, and I tried to get as much sleep as I could on thursday...and at 10pm..we left Charleston and headed up to Jefferson...yea...10 PM...After a caffeinated Coffee drink, we got there at around 1230 AM....and started shopping...Never in my life have I experience lines and wait times like this....It's 10x worse than boxing day shopping...and this was at MIDNIGHT!!....Ridiculous...So I bought some stuff...and we shopped until 630 AM....yes...you read right...hahah...then we drove back to Charleston and got back around 930 Am....Yea..I had to do all the driving...so I was exhausted...

I just woke up from my sleep...and it's only 230 pm....hopefully that's enough to get me through the rest of the day....
